In our culture, many of us can have the false assumption that church is an experiential, consumeristic activity. We think the church exists to satisfy our own desires. The biblical picture of a church is far different. It is a family, God’s household, a body, and a people.

When Christians gather together on Sundays, we do more than come together for a religious experience. We come not only to worship God, but also to serve one another and build one another up using our gifts. While serving others does not end on Sundays, it starts there.
